Aunt Bark is very pleased with her twin nephews and will soon be putting them to work at the "Best Dog Gone" Catering Service.

Now it is your turn to try out those all famous Yap and Hap buttermilk pancakes.

Aunt Bark's Basic Buttermilk Pancakes

Yield: 10 Pancakes Yield: 60 Pancakes

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons slightly beaten egg
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoon butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

7 1/2 cups all purpose flour
6 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
3 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 eggs slightly beaten
7 1/2 cups buttermilk
6 teaspoons butter, melted
1 teaspoons vanillia

Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.  Combine egg, buttermilk, butter and vanilla in another bowl.  Add to the flour mixture.  Mix ingredients together until slightly lumpy.  heat a slightly greased griddle over medium heat until pancakes are golden brown and the edges are slightly dry with the surface of the pancake bubbly (about 2 to 3 minutes per side).  Set the timer to remember to turn each pancake over to cook the second side.

For blueberry buttermilk pancakes, make the above batter except sprinkle 1 tablespoon of fresh blueberries on each pancake before turning to cook the second side.
